Will not fit over ball joint on 2009 Lincoln MKZ. Charged for next day air and tool arrived 3 days later. Rates as worse tool experience in 40 plus years as tech and shop owner.
Follow-up from Freedom Racing: You ordered at 12:51pm on Friday 1/14. We had it picked, packed, labeled and waiting for UPS at 1:46pm Friday 1/14. You received it Tuesday 1/18. UPS was closed Monday 1/17 due to MLK Jr Day. This is the same tool that all Ford and Lincoln dealerships use on your model. I wish you had emailed or called us because we have experienced techs who could have worked with you to figure out what was going on and help resolve the issue. Often times it comes down to aftermarket parts being on a vehicle and then some OEM tools won't work. I wish you'd had a better experience and I wish you'd reached out to us. (Posted on 1/28/2022)
Always saw this in the WSM and wanted one for myself. Worth the money if you do a ton of modern suspension work. Just run it in, put some pressure on the joint but dont abuse the tool, and give the component a few hits with an air hammer if needed to jar the joint loose with no evidence you were ever there. Bought to dismantle a couple of 6 gen Mustangs. Could not find any other tool that fit properly. This tool made job fast and easy. Has longer spread and wider base needed for many models of Ford ball and tie rod ends.

Used every tool in my arsenal to try to remove the front lower control arms on my 2016 Mustang GT. After a bit of online research, I found that Ford, in all of their wisdom, created a specialty tool just to press out their control arm joints on this car. It is an extremely strong tool, especially considering the thinness of the lower u-shaped flange that rests underneath the joint to be pressed out, which is why nothing else that I had tried would work. The tool also has a trick bolt that is used to drive out the pressed joint with a ball bearing embedded into the bottom. That ball bearing fits into a dimple on an adapter that fits over the top of the joint, allowing for an extremely smooth and straight press out of the ball joint. I must admit that I lost my breath when I saw the price of this specialty tool. And I hate to admit it, but it is worth the price. But shame on Ford! Would I say good value for the price? No. I would say good value to finally get the job done and turning what I made a 2-hour job into a 2 1/5 day job. Excellent customer service and prompt shipping from this vendor. And, they had the best price on the internet. Would I buy it again? And from this vendor? Yes. But I would have done it before I started the job and saved me 2 days of my life that I'll never get back. Stay Safe All. (Posted on 5/22/2020)
I purchased it for future use on Fords but needed it for a Genesis with similar suspension type. Worked like a charm. The tool number for the Genesis were being cancelled by a third party company. So this alternate tool worked perfectly. (Posted on 3/3/2020)
