The xMB-9640 Ford Balancer Kit supports Ford's Standard and Extended Range high voltage battery packs.
The xMB-9640 Ford Module Balancer Kit includes the following:

The deployment of xMB-9640 KIT will provide Ford Ford/Lincoln EV Certified Dealers and EV qualified commercial service repair facilities with:
- A safe and efficient way for technicians to field service Ford HV BEV battery packs
- A consistent HV service experience for technicians with accurate results
- Module testing prior to balancing or service
- Module pack balancing
- New module balancing if replacing a module into the battery pack
- Module discharge routine for the safe shipment of modules to recycler or service facility
xMB-9640 charges or discharges battery modules up to 96 volts. Max current capabilities are 40 amps up to 48 volts and 20 amps above 48 volts. The operation of the unit is through a 5” color touchscreen or keypad and an android operating system with applications for each function. This unit combined with our unique service approach described below can satisfy current Ford module servicing with hardware and flexibility through wireless updates and monitoring to address most future module changes or requirement needs.

Ease of use
The xMB-9640 is designed with handgrips to allow for easy lift and carry applications or can be easily mounted to the optional xMB-9640 cart for safe & easy movement in the shop area.
The xMB-9640 has an intuitive screen flow with large icons to inform the user of the proper procedures to perform a balance. Before any balancing begins, the xMB performs a self-test including all the cable connections to detect that the proper module was selected and proper connections were made.
xMB-9640 Module Balancer Features & Specifications:
- Charge and discharge from 0-48 volts at a maximum of 40 amps
- Charge and discharge from 48-96 volts at a maximum of 20 amps
- Uses constant current / constant voltage methods
- Automatically determines whether the modules need charging or discharging based on target voltage input and current module voltage
- Automatically stops balance when target voltage is reached and stabilizes
- Automatically discharges the module to the specific SoC (30%) for safe transport in compliance with regulations
