It works like supposed to. Review by Donald

The first time I replaced these links I got them out with a Sawzall so this tool made the job much easier. I did have to put some heat to them to get the rubber to break loose but they came right out after that. (Posted on 7/22/2019)

It's tricky to secure in place, but the tool does work. Considering how much I saved in shop labor, it was still a good purchase.

Pay someone to do this. Review by Tim

I saw the videos where people were using cables and their SUVs to pull out the end link and was going to skip the project until I saw the video where the guy had this tool. I decided to give it a try. The force required to pull the end link in incredible. I had a three foot pipe on my 1/2" ratchet to be able to crank it. As the tool worked, so much force was applied to the top of the tool where the bolt is that it would slowly slide back bending the 3/8" alloy clamp of the tool. Eventually, when the tool had bent enough, the stud would pop out of the hole on the trailing arm. I found that a large C clamp would bend the tool back. If there was room to put a C clamp on the tool it might work. I melted the rubber on the end link and got it off only to discover that getting the new one in was as difficult as the removal. The force must be different because I had less trouble with the tool popping off and got the new link in. I had hoped that the second side might be easier thinking that the tool had started bent and I had fixed it. Not so. I tried supporting the bottom of the tool by wedging stuff underneath so the stud could not pull out. Not only did it pull out but it pulled the stud out of the tool damaging the hole the stud fits into. This being the case I gave up. I don't know that this tool is up to the job. The amount of force required to remove and install the link is too much for the material the tool is made from. The people at Freedom Racing read my previous review on this tool and contacted me. 'Very nice' I thought. I'm not sure what the outcome will be but seeing what the tool was expected to endure I don't feel that bad about its failure. I would suggest that you don't attempt this project. There's nothing difficult about it but other than getting the tool to hold up to the task.

Followup from Freedom Racing: Thank you for the detailed feedback to help other customers. We have a historically high percentage of warranty claims on the OEM tool but it appears as though this will be the first warranty claim on this aftermarket tool. We've sold quite a few of the OEM and aftermarket versions. (Posted on 5/31/2019)

Indispensable tool for this job, but still had to apply some heat to get things moving and not over stress the tool. (Posted on 3/8/2019)
