The current procedure to in SI2K for A/C system diagnosis requires a low side pressure reading to validate the low pressure cycling switch that is located on the Accumulator/Drier. The low side service port is up stream from the A/D with the evaporator in bewteen. The pressure can drop up to 12 psi across the evaporator depending on the ambeint temperature. The difference in pressure causes the technician to condemn the cycling switch. GE-47742 is an adapter that allows the tech to read pressure directly at the cycling switch while keeping the cycling switch in the system and operating.
